PIPING WITHOUT EXCAVATION WORKS THROUGH MACHINES FOR HORIZONTAL DRILLING

SPECIFICS AND FUNCTIONALITY

The company ELS JSC has three machines at its disposal that are used for horizontal piping according to a technology without excavation works and one of these machines is the most modern one in Bulgaria – GRUNDODRILL 15X.

The spectrum of application covers all construction works related to water, gas and central heating supply, placing pressure-resistant pipes for waste waters, as well as pipes for protection of power, optical and telecommunication cables.

Technical application - Grundodrill 15x

The machine is able to place pipes with diameter of up to 400 mm – polythene and up to 500 mm – steel, depending on the length of the drill. The maximum length of the drills is 200 meters. It has high productivity with smaller diameter pipes and is far better than the excavation technology. The machine has a controllable drilling lever, which is directed through a localization system.

Technical application

GRUNDOPIT is a drilling machine that is operated by hydraulics and can be used for connections for optical cables, water and gas supply and sewage. According to the type of the soils, pipes with diameter of up to 125 mm can be drawn out with a length of the drill of 40 meters.

Due to its small width, length and height, this facility can be used in small size excavations. The facility has controllable drilling lever, which is directed through a localization system.

Technology:

The piping is carried out through a machine for horizontal drilling and in this way the damages to the environment are insignificant. The pipes are placed at a depth according to the customer’s request or according to the design. The PROCESS itself passes through the following stages:

1. Design/Preliminary study
2. Selection of the machine and the instrument for drilling
3. Pilot drilling with localization
4. Expanding /once or several times to the desired diameter of the drilling/
5. Drawing out the pipe

During the pilot drilling and the drawing out of the pipe a washing liquid is used /bentonite/, which is absolutely environmentally friendly. We work with the products of the company BENTONIL, which is a leader in the world market.
